Jesus said to Nicodemus:
Marvel not that I said unto thee, YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN - John 3:7
But Why is your Salvation a MUST?
Because, according to scripture, it is our only way of escape. The word of the Lord said in Hebrews 2:3:
How shall we ESCAPE, if we neglect So Great Salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
But escape from what? one may ask
#1. Escape from Satan’s Kingdom
Colosians 1:13:
Who hath DELIVERED us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the KINGDOM of HIS DEAR SON:
By new birth/salvation/redemption we are delivered from the power/kingdom of darkness (I.e. Satan’s Kingdom) and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son (Jesus’ kingdom also known as the kingdom of God).
Salvation is a deliverance from the kingdom/power of darkness to the kingdom of Christ.
So until one receives salvation, he/she is a prisoner/captive in the Kingdom/power of darkness (i.e. a prisoner in satan’s kingdom).
Ephesians 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
So until one is saved, he/she is not only a captive of the kingdom of darkness, he/she is described as darkness itself.
"For ye were sometimes darkness..." (Ephesians 5:8A)
That’s why it’s a “So great Salvation” as described in Hebrews 2:3. Because you’re changed from darkness to light. It says, you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord (Ephesians 5:8)
Someone’s escape is happening right now in the name of Jesus.
#2. Escape from Curses into the Blessing
What happens when one is saved?
Galasians 3:13-14:
[13] Christ hath redeemed us from THE CURSE of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
[14] That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Through salvation, we are redeemed from the curse; Jesus took on the curse for us. By hanging on the cross, He became a curse on our behalf so we may inherit the blessing. That is, we become inheritors of the blessing of Abraham. Now what’s that?
Galasians 3:29:
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and HEIRS according to the promise.
What did God promise Abraham?
Genesis 12:1-3
[1] Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Testimony concerning a young man who escaped a curse of accident after receiving Jesus. This testimony was encountered in the course of a pastoral mission several years ago. The young man gave his life to Christ during a gospel outreach and honored our invitation to be in church the immediate Sunday. On a follow-up to his home that week, we were told by the mother of the new convert that one fellow had placed a curse/spell on her son that he would be knocked down by a vehicle. But interestingly after the son came to church, same week they received the news that the fellow that cursed him was rather knocked down by a car.
your escape from curses, spells and enchantments is settled today in the name of Jesus!
That means until one is saved, they are still under the curse (both the curse of the law and other curses of life). May you escape from curses into blessings today!
Genesis 24:1:
And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.
Abraham was blessed All-Round - "blessed in all things" and that’s your story from now on in the name of Jesus!
What else do we escape from through the Salvation that Jesus purchased for us?
#3. Escape from God’s righteous judgement/eternal damnation
Let us see it directly as it is in scripture:
Mark 16:16
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be DAMNED.
John 3:18 :
He that believeth on him is NOT CONDEMNED: but he that believeth not IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, BECAUSE he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:36:
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but THE WRATH OF GOD abideth on him.
2Timothy 4:1:
I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall JUDGE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD at his appearing and his kingdom;
Hebrews 10:31:
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
However, for those who are saved, the word says:
There is therefore now NO CONDEMNATION to them which are in Christ Jesus… (Romans 8:1)
Salvation is our only escape from condemnation or damnation.
For someone reading this message now, it’s time to run to Jesus! Run into His loving arms.
John 3:16:
For God SO LOVED THE WORLD, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus wants to save you from condemnation and eternal judgment/destruction.
LETS PRAY:
If you would like to receive salvation, please say this prayer:
Jesus Save my soul; and wash my sins with your precious blood.
Thank you Jesus for saving me.
Amen.
Congratulations if you said that prayer. The Word of God says you are now a new creature and old things are passed away. All things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). In other-words, God will never call your past life (sins/faults) to remembrance. They are totally forgiven and forgotten. Check this:
I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (Isaiah 43:25)
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12 )
