NOT Every Word you hear (read, see, encounter, etc) is God’s Word for you
Psalm 105:19:
until the time that HIS WORD came: the word of the LORD tried him.
So God has a [particular] word addressed to you
Until the time that “his Word” came…
“His Word”
So how do you know what Word you encounter is Your Word?
#1. It is the Sent Word
Psalm 107:20
He SENT his word, and healed THEM, and delivered THEM from their destructions.
But not every sent word is God’s Word to you;
God always sends His Word to someone or a group of people
So;
#2. It is the Right Word
How forcible are RIGHT WORDS! - Job 6:25It may be a SENT Word, but is it must be the RIGHT word for you
So;
#3. It's the Word In Season
Isaiah 50:4:
The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak A WORD IN SEASON to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth MINE EAR TO HEAR as the learned.
it is the word that fits perfectly into the particular season of your life;
It’s a timely word; a word you can perfectly identify with (or that identifies with your situation)
Then
#4. It is a joyful Word
Psalm 89:15:
Blessed is the people that know THE JOYFUL SOUND: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
It is the Word that springs joy in your heart; It’s not the word that grieves your spirit.
Jer 15:16:
Thy WORDS were found, and I did eat THEM; and THY WORD was unto me the JOY and REJOICING of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
See this:
Thy WORDS [plural] were found
And it says “I did eat THEM” [ still plural]
But out of the abundance of the WORDS found, he said:
And THY WORD [now Singular] was unto me the JOY and REJOICING of mine heart;
So the Prophet Jeremiah was saying here in this text that LORD out of all the WORDS that you spoke to me, there’s a particular WORD that really rejoiced my heart;
That’s what we call RHEMA
RHEMA will rejoice your heart
Whether it’s a doctrine, instruction, rebuke, correction, reprove or a prophecy; if it is your WORD, it will soothe your spirit (2Tim 3:16, 2Pet 1:18-21).
Bible said concerning Philip the evangelist (Act 21:8b):
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and PREACHED CHRIST unto them… And there was GREAT JOY in that city - Act 8:5/8
When he preached the Word sent (meant) for the people of that city, there was great Joy in the city.
So how do you know God’s Word for you?
It is the Sent word to you
It is the right word for you
It is the Word in Season (the Word that fits perfectly into that season of your life)
It is the Word that springs joy in your heart (for the voice of the Lord is a joyful sound)
Application
Whenever you open your bible or read an anointed book, listen to an audio teaching or watch a message on video, keep reading, keep listening, keep watching until you hear the “Joyful Sound” (I.e. the Word for you).
So if it’s a book you’re reading for instance, you may not encounter your WORD in chapter 1 or 2. it may be in chapter 5 or 8 or even in the preface or introduction.
Even if it’s the raw bible you’re reading, your WORD is not in the whole bible (I.e. from Genesis to Revelation which is LOGOS). Your word for that season of life may be just a verse or a few verses of scripture. It may be a lesson in a whole book of the bible perhaps. It may be in the New Testament or Old Testament or verses of scripture in both.
If you’re in church, hearing a message being preached to you, your WORD may not be the whole message, it may come at the beginning, it may be in the middle somewhere or somewhere towards the end. It may be just a statement made or a scripture shared that springs joy in your heart.
Catch it and run with it;
The Lord SENT A WORD into Jacob, and it hath lighted upon Israel. Isaiah 9:8
