TURNING ADVERSITY INTO OPPORTUNITY!

Deuteronomy 32:9-13 (KJV):

9For the LORD's portion is his people;

Jacob is the lot of his inheritance.

10He found him in a desert land,

And in the waste howling wilderness;

He led him about, he instructed him,

He kept him as the apple of his eye.

11As an eagle stirreth up her nest,

Fluttereth over her young,

Spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them,

Beareth them on her wings:

12So the LORD alone did lead him,

And there was no strange god with him.

13He made him ride on the high places of the earth,

That he might eat the increase of the fields;

And he made him to suck honey out of the rock,

And oil out of the flinty rock;

From the above scripture, we see that God is likened to an Eagle.

By extension, it means that every child of God is a spiritual Eagle as well, because like begets like; in other-words, God who is Himself a spiritual Eagle (as depicted in the text), will only have offsprings who are also spiritual eagles.

Now, it has been observed in nature that the Eagle (which is King in the bird kingdom), has a unique Characteristic of being able to take advantage of negative winds to Soar even higher when in flight.

Why is this symbolism so important/necessary? Reason being that in life, negative winds do blow from time to time (what one may term as adversity), seeking to take us down or stall our motion. But what the child of God needs to realise is that you’re a spiritual Eagle. No adverse wind (circumstance) of life can take you down or stall/impede your motion. Rather, they present opportunities to soar even higher.

Inside every adverse circumstance/condition of life lies incredible opportunities for new hights (greater exploits) and even new dimensions of your God-ordained destiny.

Referring to our opening scripture/text, the Word says that God led Jecob about as an eagle does its offsprings, and He made him to ride on the high places of the earth. In other words Jecob as a spiritual Eagle,  gained new heights, in spite of the negative winds that came against him. It's not explicit in our text that Jecob encountered any negative winds or adversity. However, we know his story from other sections (chapters and verses) of scripture how that he was cheated on his wages about 20years serving in the household of his uncle Laban. But by engaging one divine idea which he received in a dream, he outwitted his uncle and left that place of servitude as a wealthy man. He went there as one-man, so to speak, with almost nothing, but came out with a household of his own (married with servants and all) and much possession/affluence (see Genesis Chapters 29, 30 and 31 for full story).

With a humble reflection on my 14years of ministry (12years being mostly pastoral), I can recall that the places where I saw the greatest spiritual opposition, were the places that God has taken me to strange heights in the ministry. Till date, I have learned by experience, that the negative winds have only come to take the Eagle higher.

Just like the Eagle is known to soar to hights that no other bird in the bird kingdom can, as a child of God, you are an eagle in flight; and you're designed to soar to heights in life that some others cannot, under the same conditions. So you can rest assured that every condition/circumstance of life (positive or negative) will only help you reach even higher in your destiny flight.

Therefore Soar! Eagle 🦅 Soar!!

If you also would like to becom a child of God, and unleash your Eagle destiny, kindly say this simple prayer:

 LETS PRAY:

I believe that Jesus died for my sins and I confess Him as Lord and Saviour.  Thank you Lord. Amen.

Congratulations! if you said that prayer, the Word of God says you are now a new creature and old things are passed away. All things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). In other-words, God will never call your past life (sins/faults) to remembrance. They are totally forgiven and forgotten. Check this:

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (Isaiah 43:25)

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12 )
