The Power of Love

Love is the most powerful force in the universe (1st Corinthians 13:13).  Love can move any mountain—name it! God’s kind of love is an unshakable force that can break through any barricade or stronghold.

This love saysDo not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21). In other words, don’t repay evil with evil; repay evil with good. Bless when they curse. And when they throw evil at you, quench it with the shield of faith and answer with good. The world only gets worse when we practice tit for tat.
I know of no other force that changes people than the force of love. It will change even the vilest person:
It turns sinners into saints
It turns a nasty husband into a loving, more compassionate one
It turns a mean, insubordinate wife to a humble, submissive one
It turns a rebellious child into a humble, sober one
No wonder scripture says, “Many waters cannot quench love” (Songs of Solomon 8:7). If love could be quenched then God can be quenched. Because God is love (1st John 4:16). That’s why love is so powerful. So when you engage this potent weapon, no devil can stop you.
13 key characteristics of love (based on 1st Corinthians 13)
  1. Love does not base her actions on what the other person is doing. Love just loves
  2. Love does not expect anything in return
  3. Love is proactive; not reactive
  4. Love covers all sins (Proverbs 10:12). It does not expose the sins/errors of the other person
  5. Love is tenderhearted and quick to forgive
  6. Love is patient—perhaps the most crucial attribute. It does not give up  easily on people
  7. Love gives room for error—it does not crucify people for doing wrong
  8. Love allows people to be themselves
  9. Love gives room for the other person to grow
  10. Love is attractive—it pulls like magnet. That’s why Jesus Christ (who is Love Himself) drew so much crowd to Himself during His earthly ministry (see Matthew 4:25, Matthew 8:1, Luke 5:15)
  11. Love assumes/thinks the best of people
  12. Many waters cannot quench love—love never fails
  13. And the ultimate: Love is a choice:
It is not a feeling or emotion. It is purely a choice. I guess this is what really makes love what it is.
“While we were yet sinners, Christ [chose to die] for us” (Romans 5:8, Paraphrased). He did not “feel” like dying—remember His prayer in the garden of Gethsemane—yet He chose to let the will of His Father be done (Matt 26:39-42).

With this eternal force at work in our lives, we can conquer the world!

Now, let us round up with a text from 1st John 4:9. It says:
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

From the text, it's clear that Jesus Christ (the only begotten Son of God) is God’s love manifested to humanity. That means, our journey into a love walk begins with accepting  Jesus Christ (i.e. God’s love) into our hearts. If you desire to do so, then may I invite you to say this simple prayer and mean it from your heart:

I believe that Jesus is the Son of God who came to die for my sins and I confess Him as Lord and Saviour.  Thank you Lord for saving me.  Amen.

Congratulations! if you said that prayer. The Word of God says you are now a new creature and old things are passed away. All things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). In other-words, God will never call your past life (sins/faults) to remembrance. They are totally forgiven and forgotten. Check this:

I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. (Isaiah 43:25)

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12 )

If you have said this prayer, we encourage you to get into a bible believing church near you where you can grow in the Lord (1st Peter 2:2 and 2nd Samuel 7:10) . Further, you can receive more inspiration by connecting on our social media handles below:
